Oh, Canada

So, I’m in Canada. My mom thought it would be a good surprise to celebrate my dad’s birthday with my uncle and his family. They live near Toronto, Canada.
I’ve been here once before. It was a mess. Not Canada, mind you. Just the trip to get to Canada.
Cause’ it’s apparently cheaper to fly into Buffalo and then to drive into Canada.
Last time, I flew separately from my parents, so I ended up waiting in the Buffalo airport for more than two hours. Know what’s exciting about the Buffalo airport? Nothing once you are outside of the terminals and in the baggage claim area. So I had to find a way to entertain myself for two whole hours without the Internet. Pure.Torture.
(I know I’m spoiled… now is not the time to get into that…)
Then after my parents arrived and we were trying to make the trip up to Canada, we got lost. Ended up somewhere in downtown Buffalo… I don’t know. I can’t tell you how we did it, but we were lost for approximately one hour before we were even able to muster any sense of direction.
This time, however, the trip to Canada was smooth, no problems. I guess having the experience helped…
Unfortunately, on the plane this time, I was stuck behind someone who decided to let out a fart every 5 to 10 minutes. For anyone who’s ever been on a plane… you know that’s recycled air. There’s no breeze to take it away… you just hold your breath, hoping that the smell will go away or you get up out of your seat and “escape” the smell for a while. I was in a window seat… so you know what my option was.
I should’ve kicked her seat… every time I smelled a fart. Just a good hard kick each time. Hell, you’re making me suffer, I might as well try to make you suffer for a little bit… petty, yes, I know.
Anyway… it’s 2:45 in the morning. My parents and my uncle and aunt are in the background gabbing the night away. And I still don’t know where I’m going to sleep…
Tomorrow, I’ll be damned if I can’t convince someone to take me to downtown Toronto.
