Sucks for You, Buddy….
Filed Under Sucks for You | 2 Comments
So I read two reports on Fox News (ewwww….) that I wanted to share with you.
The first…
This is like when a basketball or football player tears his ACL, potentially killing any chance of a pro-career…
A Japanese man who set a world record by wolfing down dozens of hot dogs within minutes has suffered a severe jaw injury due to his rigorous training, making his next title uncertain.
Takeru “Tsunami” Kobayashi said he can only open his mouth to make a gap the size of a fingertip after being diagnosed with jaw arthritis.
In an entry on his blog entitled “Occupational hazard,” Kobayashi said: “My jaw refused to fight any more.”

I watched this guy, Takeru “Tsunami” Kobayashi, on MTV’s True Life: I’m a Competitive Eater.
This is serious… I think this is how he makes his livelihood. That would suck so hard… it’s like me having carpal tunnel (cause I’m a web developer and stuff). Hope he gets better.
The full story is here: World Hot Dog-Eating Champion Crippled by Jaw Injury
Second….
This is a very good way to discipline your child… especially if you don’t want them to end up on an episode of Maury being yelled at by drill instructors, taken to a jail overnight, yelled at by inmates, and then emerging crying and claiming they want to change their ways….
You know what the hell I’m talking about, don’t act like you don’t watch Maury…
Anyway, it beats tiring yourself out whipping her with that switch.

A Tennessee mother fed up with her daughter’s misbehavior took an unusual tack in for latest punishment, making her stand on a busy street corner with an attention-getting sign.
Tashara Wilkins, 13, held a sign Sunday reading, “I don’t obey my parents, I’m a liar. I steal from my mom. I have a bad attitude.”
“All other resources haven’t worked, so I’m making her be publicly humiliated today,” mother Cherie Wilkins told WMC-TV in Memphis. “I hope this works for her. I love my child. … I could be beating her to death, but I’m not.”
I don’t think she got to wear that sheet though… yeah, I know, crappy joke. I tried, though…

Anyway, all I can say is sucks for you…
****EDIT*****
One more “Sucks for You” story: some guy have put some of Paris Hilton’s trash for sale on eBay… I mean like banana peels and coffee grounds… that sort of trash… *waiting for it to sink in*
Do you really get how stupid that is?!?!?!
I don’t want to know what’s in her trash… or very many other people’s trash, for that matter…
And these guys have confirmation from a lawyer that what they are doing (going into someone’s trash can) is legal as long as the can has been put on on the curb and as long as they don’t trespass… and they also plan to go into other celebrities’ trash cans too.
Yeah, it’s not illegal, it’s just grimy as hell… full story here: Paris Hilton’s trash for sale on eBay.
Stepha Henry is Still Missing

While the majority of the U.S. wrings their hands over Jessie Davis, Stepha Henry is still missing.
- She’s been missing for almost a month (she disappeared from a nightclub in Miami on May 29).
- Media still doesn’t care. (story)
- The guy that she went to the club with has been questioned. The cops want to examine the car they went out in. He says he can’t find it. Huh?!?!?! Shady… (story)
- There might be a witness who saw her get into a car with “three kids with dreds” and “two females”. (story)

I understand that these are both tragic cases. My heart goes out to anyone who has a loved one missing. As for me, I guess I’m just trying to combat a little bit of the missing white woman syndrome.
It’s been almost a month that Stepha Henry has been missing. What has evolved during the investigation? I dunno. Media doesn’t want to report on it, really.
From what I’ve read:
I’m not sure what else I can do. I hope that she is found safely. Or that her family and friends can achieve peace of mind.

June 22nd Edition!
I feel like I’m becoming a video site because of all the online video I post, but until I get bored of it, I will post and post and post and post and…
Anyway.
Happy Friday! I know your day is going well simply because it’s Friday and you get to go home soon, but here’s some comic relief to tide you over…
First up, I’ve never laughed so much at something so short and eralistically so stupid. But this gave me the best belly laugh I’ve had in weeks.
There’s more after the jump.
Beyonce Might Need to Watch Her Back
Filed Under Video Time!, Da Hotness, Beyonce, Tiffany Evans | 1 Comment
Normally, I don’t believe it when people say, “Oh My Gosh! My 10 year old cousin can sing her ass off!” It usually means that that cousin can make a bunch of noises that sound, kinda, sorta, maybe-because-they-are-related-to-you, marginally okay.
Now this video is of a girl from Korea competing in Star King, their version of American Idol. And while it is obvious that she is merely imitating the words (I doubt that she has a strong grasp of English), you can still tell that she has a great voice.
Not quite on the same level of Tiffany Evans, but not far behind.
She’s performing Listen from Beyonce, and let me tell you, B might need to watch her back.

Am I Wrong to Want to Call Her a Crackhead?

I mean, I have never had any real encounters with crackheads, but I assume that this is how they would act. “Look at me dance! Now can I have $10 for my next fix?”
I’m just saying. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Time for a New Perspective?

“Until the lions tell their tales, the story of the hunt will always glorify the hunter.” - African Proverb
I came across this proverb from my contact Solomon’s blog (When Least Expected). He used it to speak on how men and women interact with each other.
I take from it something else: how do we see ourselves and how are our stories being told?
I’m sorry to anyone of another race who may be reading this, but I will be speaking primarily to readers of African descent.

Do you know how much economic influence that African Americans can and do have?
In 2003, Black Enterprise reported that “black buying power is estimated to be around $688 billion — twice as much as 2001″ and also that “the buying power of African Americans is likely to increase by 169.5% to $921 billion by the year 2008.”
Another blog I read recently reports the estimations of essayist and retired patent attorney Richard Everett that African Americans are projected to have spending power of approximately $1 trillion a year by 2010.
But how often do you spend your disposable income in a Black-owned business? How often do you read Black-owned publications? Have you ever thought of opening your own business? Do you question the angle from which stories from the media are told?
It’s time to start thinking for ourselves, looking after our own, and stop waiting on them (whoever you want them to be) to help us.

Missing Person: Stepha Henry
Filed Under Spread the Word, Missing, Stepha Henry | Leave a Comment
Just in case you haven’t heard about this.

Stepha Henry, 22, was last seen partying at Peppers Cafe, located on 3828 N. University Dr. in Fort Lauderdale, at 1 a.m. May 29…..
Calls placed to Henry’s cell phone went straight to her voice mail. The petite woman was last seen wearing a black dress with a white tank top underneath and brown heels. She was carrying a brown clutch purse. Henry, who has long bronze hair, is 5′2” and 110 pounds.
”It’s been very hard. She is not the kind of girl to run off. If anyone has seen her, I am asking that you please come forward,” Henry’s mother said Wednesday.
You can get the rest of the story here.
Please pass it on…
Get It Raven!

Raven Symone’s looking pretty good in her new photo shoot. I found this pic and a few more from ConcreteLoop.com. Apparently, she’s bringing out a new album later this year. I don’t know if this photoshoot is related, but she looks great. Curvy Girls Unite!
Check out her new single “Got It Girl”. Doesn’t really showcase her vocal abilities, but it could become a mini-hit this summer. Hecks, if I like it…
(If that doesn’t show up, you can hear it on imeem.com)

It’s Happy Monday Time brought to you by Sister Act 2.
