Update - Nailah Franklin
Filed Under In My Thoughts, Missing, Nailah Franklin | Leave a Comment

A body of a young woman was found about a mile away from where Nailah Franklin’s abandoned car was found.
There were reports that the family had identified the remains but on BringNailahFranklinHome.com, there was a message posted that said that the body had not yet been confirmed or identified as Nailah.
Either way, please pray/send up positive spirits for the young woman who was found and her family.
Ladies (and everyone in general), please be careful who you let into your lives.

**UPDATE**
The body was identified as Nailah Franklin. I’m sad for her, I’m sad for her family and friends. There’s no positive way to speak on this, so all I can do is pray for those who knew her directly in her life (and even for those who indirectly knew her through this story).

Missing Person: Nailah Franklin

Nailah Franklin has been missing since last Tuesday (September 18th). And there are fears from her family that there is foul play involved especially because before she disappeared, she allegedly received threats from a male acquaintance.
Okay, here’s the quick scoop:
Nailah Franklin is 5′2″ and weighs about 115 lbs. Her vehicle (a 2005 gray Chevrolet Impala) was missing but was found today outside of a vacant condo in Hammond, Indiana (22 miles away from her home).
No one has seen Nailah since Sunday. Her boyfriend in Milwaukee received a text message from Nailah around 8:15 on Tuesday, Sept. 18. She said at the time that she was having dinner and would call him when she was done.
The reported threatening message from her male acquaintance: “I could do harm to you. You haven’t seen that side, of me but I do have a bad side and I could do harm to you.”
Anyone with information relating to Nailah Franklin’s disappearance needs to call (312) 746-9259.

I’ve known about this song for a couple of months from Joy Nash, creator of the Fat Rant, and I loved it when it first came out.
It’s such a fun song and gives a positive message to a portion of our population that may not get to hear/see positive messages.
Shut. The. F–k. UP!

I have a love-hate relationship with Bill O’Reilly.
There’s this morbid fascination to figure out what he is doing or what subliminal messages FauxNews is using or what chemicals that they are pumping into the water supply that makes him so damn popular.
Then he opens his mouth and says something so overtly ignorant that I get a mini-temptation to throw something at him. Do you hear yourself?
Case in point, this lovely gem from Bill talking about dining with Al Sharpton at Sylvia’s in Harlem.
“There wasn’t one person in Sylvia’s who was screaming, ‘M-Fer, I want more iced tea.’ You know, I mean, everybody was — it was like going into an Italian restaurant in an all-white suburb in the sense of people were sitting there, and they were ordering and having fun. And there wasn’t any kind of craziness at all.”
What?! Bill. Shut the f–k up and go sit down somewhere.
Ridiculous. This man has an average of 2-3 million people tuning in to hear his opinions each week.

**EDIT**
I went back and read the transcript for that entire line of conversation. It could have been a much more neutral conversation. But still, I guess ignorance will win over common sense more often than not.

Michael Jackson’s Comeback?
Filed Under WTF?!?!?!, Huh???, Michael Jackson | 3 Comments

So reportedly, MJ has been planning a comeback for 15 years.
According to SOHH:
“Michael Jackson can’t leave the game alone. The King of Pop is reportedly plotting his return to music with a new album and a tour that may include his starlet sister, Janet.”
Uh-huh.
“This is something Michael is carefully planning,” a source close to Jackson told the Sun-Times. “I think the album is going to be amazing. From what I’ve heard, it will be as big as Thriller — and yet will take his music in a new direction to appeal to new, younger fans — but will still have those Michael touches his traditional fans love.”
As big as Thriller? You’re out of your ever-lovin’ mind.
But anyway, there was a track leaked that some are claiming is MJ’s new single. Take a listen for yourself.
According to TMZ, it’s this white guy (but I thought Mike was white now), Jason Malachi, who sounds shockingly similar to Mike.
You be the judge. I can definitely hear the resemblance, but could it also be Mike trying to gauge audience reactions?
What do you think?
I feel bad every time I post that picture ![]()
But not bad enough not to post it…
Inspired

I am inspired.
Going through different brown blogs. Perusing my often neglected profiles and friends from Facebook and MySpace.
I am inspired because there is a change rumbling. Activism and taking charge of our destiny is starting to bubble to the top.
Questioning the status quo, not to be difficult, but to resist utter complacency.
On my Myspace page, six months ago to this day, I blogged about “A Change is Gonna Come”. At the time, I was referring mostly to how I was feeling, the changes within me.
But I see that some of the changes within me are echoed by many others across the blogosphere, across the US, even across the world.
And I am inspired.
You have contributed so much to my collective mentality, positive, negative, neutral. But I thank you all.
Things Men Should Know About Women
Filed Under Duh, Tayo Speaks | 1 Comment
I came across this list while reading my blogging buddy, Lisa C’s blog (Lisa C Writes) and apparently there are 73 things you men should know about women.
Esquire said so.
(Click here to see the full list).
Here are some of the ones found myself nodding my head the hardest to:
- Speaking of flowers, they are most effective when delivered to her workplace.
- Getting back to kissing: more lip. Less tongue.
- If you ask about her previous boyfriend and she gets a small, wistful smile on her face, change the subject.
- On PMS: The fact that she knows hormones are causing her temporary crankiness doesn’t make the feelings any less real, so cut her some slack.
- More than anything else, women want you to make them laugh.
- The idea of love at first sight, though attractive to women in theory, terrifies them in practice.
- The quirky perfect gift that shows you’ve been listening is worth twice the value of anything you can find at Tiffany’s.
- Of course, it doesn’t hurt if the quirky perfect gift happens to be from Tiffany’s.
- Never ask a woman why she’s mad at you, as she will only get madder at your not knowing.
- One follow-up to an unreturned phone call is acceptable; two is stalking. (Tayo - as a side note, two weeks of every day calling without one call back means you need to give it up. true story…)
Classic.
