Can I just say that I was disappointed to find out what Flo Rida looks like?

I had been trying my hardest to avoid his song “Low”, but living in Florida (and attempting to listen to urban radio) makes it 99.9% impossible.

Anyway, curiosity killed the cat and I wanted to see who it was that was responsible for the “she had them Apple Bottoms jeans, boots with the fur” line that was looping through my head.

I was expecting a Rich Boy/Hurricane Chris/Soulja Boy look-a-like. And I got this. Damn it all, he’s kinda cute and swole, too.

The voice does not match the image.

Wow, um, 7 random facts, huh?

I am my parents’ first (and only) child and was also the first grandchild for both sides of the family.
I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up. (If I didn’t have to worry about having a steady paying job, I would have my hands in so many things!)
The middle finger nail on my right hand grows the fastest of all of them (I know this because I’m trying to break my nail biting habit)
I got my first tattoo when I was 25 (yes, like a week ago, and it itches sooooo much!)
I am a reality show junkie, because I like trying to psychoanalyze the caricatures that editing creates of these people, not just because I actually care about who New York ends up at least until the reunion.
I also have another excuse - my masters’ thesis was on the effects of product placement in reality TV.
Needless to say, I now recognize many of the subtle and not-so-subtle placements in every reality show I watch.
I hate cleaning up messes, but that doesn’t stop me from getting messy and disorganized at times. (Don’t know why…)
I’ve self-taught myself how to do braids, cornrows, and twists, but I still can’t get a rollerset to look right on me.

Okay… I’m wondering what they are feeding kids in Korea, cause little girls over there are ripping it up.

Back in June, I posted about a 10 year old Korean girl who could give Beyonce a run for her money in a couple of years.

Now, from the same show, we have another little girl who is definitely gonna give Jennifer Hudson a run for her money. Take a listen:

When I found out that Donald Faison was (of) Nigerian (descent), that began my interest in him.

Sure he’s had some missteps along the way (Homie Spumoni, anyone?) and that mole that bothered me (and still does) when he was in Clueless, but in general, I adore him.

My arm really hurts from this freaking flu shot…

I am really tired of PR apologies for racist/ignorant comments. Don’t tell me you empathize with the struggle after using the slur… say “I never meant for you to know that I use it in my private life”. I get that. I understand that. Oh, and as a side note, claiming you have black (or Hispanic/Latino or Asian or whatever) friends, does not make it okay that you said it.

Ugh, my arm really hurts… whose genius idea was it to give me the flu (virus) so I don’t get the flu?

Yay! 5 day until my birthday! I don’t care what you say, I’ll tell you in every blog post I can until that day. Don’t say I didn’t give you enough time to get me a present. How are you going to get it to me, you ask? Don’t worry, you’re smart enough to figure it out. I believe in you!

And I’m really really contemplating going out for FAMU’s Homecoming Weekend, even though I know that TPD/Sheriff’s will be out en masse and in full effect. *sigh* I miss FAM’s Homecoming of 1999 and 2000. Those were the best years ever…
