Looking for Janet and Erykah

O-Kay. As you (should) know, Janet Jackson and Erykah Badu both released an album yesterday. I decided to support these two artists even though I sometimes borrow some people’s songs indefinitely off the Interwebs by going out to buy the CDs.
First stop: Best Buy. Janet was there, Erykah wasn’t. As I held onto Discipline, I wandered the rows of Best Buy looking for someone in a blue shirt who could tell me if there was a copy of Nu Amerkyah hidden in the back for me… no one. All the blue shirts were ghost. F-it. I’ll just go to Target.
Next up: Target. No Janet, no Erykah.
Next: um, Circuit City? Let me state for the record that Circuit City has the weakest selection of CDs. Of course, no Janet, no Erykah. Not even stock copies of “Worldwide Underground”, “Baduizm”, “Velvet Rope”, “Rhythm Nation”, nothing!
And I’ll be damned if I was going to go to Walmart to cop an edited CD. I like all my swears in their place, thanks very much.
So I came home, dejected. That said, has anyone gotten any of these CDs yet (or downloaded them legally or *ahem* not so legally)? What did you think of them? Should I continue my quest tomorrow?

I’ll probably check for that Badu Janet; but Janet is kind of played.
Being a pop star just isn’t cute anymore in your 40s.
As far as major label albums, I can usually get what I need at target. I’ve never known them or best buy to not have new releases. Where do you live?
I got the chance to purchase Erykahs album early from an album signing and I must say its great. I really really like it and its a wonderful way to come back on the scene. My favs are “The Healer” , “Honey”, “Me” and “Cell” but all of the songs are good.
Yobachi - I’m kind of a Janet mini-stan, I have every album since janet. I love both artists though and like I said, I was trying to be legal for them. I live in Tallahassee, FL and all these stores were within a 2 mile radius of my house and each other, so maybe that’s why? I mean the stores were picked clean… I might go back out today and resume the hunt.
MissOMG - I love “The Healer”… that’s what peaked my interest in the album, I didn’t like Honey at first but it’s grown on me.
Like I said, I found Janet, but couldn’t find Erykah anywhere…
Oh, they didn’t have’em because they sold out. I read it as if they weren’t carrying them.
I go back to Rythm Nation with Janet (really before that), but unless she going to do more grown music and less of the technotronic-esq MTV stuff, I can’t really get with it.
But you know, if your that into somebody, I guess you gotta do what you gotta do.
I copped the Badu joint, not too big of a Janet fan. Erykah’s is worth it…
Yobachi: right, the placards were there, the CDs weren’t. There’s always about five songs on each Janet CD that I love so maybe I’ll download them.
Sincere: thanks for that feedback.
I dunno… I’m kind of over it for now… I was just kind of annoyed yesterday but I’ll probably go next week.
