Whatever Happened To… Skee-Lo?

Skee-Lo, nee Antoine Roundtree, created the essential radio-friendly anthem for all the shorties out there in the 90’s. His video and song “I Wish” documented some of the plights of shorter people out there.
Skee-Lo released two albums, I Wish (1995) and I Can’t Stop (2000). He released several singles, but I Wish was his most popular. He also recorded a cover of the Schoolhouse Rock! song “The Tale of Mr. Morton” and co-wrote “I’ll Be Your Everything” by boy band Youngstown.
Little has been heard about from Skee-Lo in recent history and an Internet search provided little more than an undated video for his single At the Mall and a MySpace fan page.
Below, the video for I Wish:

Wow…throwback. I used to like that song.
Yeah, where did he go?? I get all nostalgic when I hear I wish
I was just a little kid, (12 years or so) when it came out, so I have really great childhood memories connected with this track
It almost brings a tear to my eye hehe ^^
I’ll hope he will do a comeback
Well Tayo, have a great day!
Greetings and hugs from Sweden

Aura - it just randomly popped into my head one day, so I was inspired to find out what was going on with him and share it with you guys.
Mike - Wow, smiley overload… just kidding. I don’t know, he’s been out of the spotlight for 10 ears now, I don’t know if he’ll attempt a comeback. That would be interesting. Thanks for visiting!
He is married with a beautiful little girl. He is currently working and trying to get his career back on track. His latest endeavor will be the opening of a nightblub in the Los Angeles area planned for July of this year. He has also occasionally performed at small venues througthout Los Angeles. Look for him soon.
Thanks for the update! It’s good to know that he’s still out ther doing good things. Shame I’m nowhere near LA…
