America’s Next Top Model Recap - Cycle 10, Episode 3

The girls receive white purses filled with Apple Bottom jeans (which Stacy Ann so wonderfully models by sticking her butt into the confession cam). Fatima comments that Allison has a apple bottom (I don’t see it, but…) and that Allison is bigger that her in general. Allison is offended, stating that she had anorexia and still struggles with it.

The girls receive a Tyra Mail for their challenge, which includes a 5 am trip to Wal-Mart. Umm, going to Wal-Mart in the middle of the night is what people do for fun in smaller cities anyway, so whatever. The girls are told that the challenge is to create their own CoverGirl look. Claire wins the challenge and is told her picture will be on the walmart.com CoverGirl page.

Back at the house, Allison plays with two dolls, one Black (representing Fatima) and one White (representing Allison). Allison makes fun of Fatima with the dolls, stuffing tissue into the Black doll’s pants and saying that Black girls “like to take it from the back”. Aaannnnd Allison becomes my least favorite person in the back, not only for this but for the fact that in every one of her sound bites, she’s saying how she’s the best one there (we’re leading up to something… the editors ain’t slick).

There’s another Tyra Mail and the girls find out they are getting makeovers. At the Stephen Knoll salon, Tyra tells the girls that they will not know what is happening to their hair beforehand (she does tell us though through “Tyra Vision”, basically Tyra in a square at the bottom of the screen).

I’m hoping they do something to the horribleness that is Fatima’s hair. Marvita gets a horse mane hair weave (basically they weaved the hair that she had so it looked like a horse’s mane from the side). Stacy Ann wanted Naomi Campbell hair, but they gave her a short cut.

Does anyone else think that Ms. Jay’s faux weave and photoshoot made him look a little like New York(Flavor of Love)? Just saying. And boo! There was no crying. That’s no fun! Well actually, I lied. Fatima cried and complained that her weave hurt, but she ended up liking it so whatever. Oh and that weave makes Fatima look even more like Iman.

The next Tyra Mail hinted that they now had to work on “The Body”. You know it’s gotta be Elle. The girls go to the photoshoot with George Holz with NYC as their back drop. Elle MacPherson shows up and lets them know they are modeling her underwear collection.

Tyra Mail: It’s time for judging! Dominique is worried about being called “commercial” by Mr. J. Allison continues to talk about how great she is. Claire is the CoverGirl of the Week for the second time in a row. Marvita is my favorite because she always looks so fierce, but I wonder if she’ll be able to do soft. Claire looked a little like Naima (Cycle 4) in her picture; I think it’s because of the short hair. Allison is considered conceited because she basically refused to say thank you to the compliments on her makeover. And in an effort to be center of attention, Tyra made Nigel feel her booty (wonder what his wife thinks?)

The first name called to get a picture was Lauren and Allison and Dominique were the bottom two. Dominique is called because of her boring “soccer mom” look and Allison is called because the judges feel she is too cocky because of her previous modeling experience and because she didn’t say thank you.

Allison is sent home. I yelled YES!” I hope I didn’t annoy my neighbors with that. (Oh editors. You’ve made me the happiest girl in the world!) I told y’all I was through with her. Dominique is told that she will get a new hair color.

Next Week – Fatima and Amis annoy Ms. Jay at a runway challenge. Whitney goes up against Fatima and Dominique.

    Great re-cap post! I wish that they’d done something better with Claire’s hair- she was a better “before”, I think…let down in the makeover department this season!

    I actually liked Claire’s makeover, because I wouldn’t have know what else to do with her half-shaved head.

    But yeah, the makeovers were very phoned in… no one cried, which makes me wonder if the girls were all that gracious or if the looks weren’t edgy or different enough…

    I assume it’s an Apple Bottom purse because it had A.B. gear in it. I went to the A.B. store online but only saw one white purse, but I’m not completely sure that was the one (looks too small)…

    I’m going to keep on trying to find that purse… but I’m not a fashionista, so I don’t know that much about name brands and all that. When (if?) I do, I’ll let you know.
