America’s Next Top Model Recap - Cycle 10, Episode 4
Posted on March 12, 2008
The shows opens up with Dominique boasting about how her bottom two from the last week was the best bottom two because it was so intense (girl, bye - Tayo). Back at the house, Fatima is annoyed by the ball of hyperactivity that is Amis.
The girls get a TyraMail and are taken to a fire station. Ms. J, decked out in firefighter gear, tells them that they will participate in a firehouse runway lesson. They each have 90 seconds to change from their own clothes to the outfits provided for them. Fatima decided to keep her own shoes on (which were really cute by the way) and immediately gets reprimanded by Ms. J. The girls proceed to do their walks. Dominique says she has the best walk, Whitney says she knows drag queens that walk better than Dominique (where? I bet Dominique could out-stomp most drag queens out there, after she’s setting an example… that was kinda mean. Sorry.) Fatima’s walk, er Clydesdale march, makes Ms. J lose faith in her. Amis skipped, hopped, and jumped down the runway.
Back at the house, Aimee calls the shower but some of the girls claimed that they needed to pee. When they complain about Aimee wanting to shower alone (because she doesn’t like getting naked in front of people), Whitney sticks up for Aimee. Marvita and Dominique get mad at Whitney for sticking up for Aimee and Fatima claims that Whitney starts a lot of things in the house. Later, Dominique whispers to Fatima that she thinks of Whitney as white trash.
The girls then find out that they would be using their runway practice to walk in a runway show for Tuleh where they are given three minutes to get dressed with no outside help. Jaslene (Cycle 8 winner) and Ann Shoket (editor in chief of Seventeen) are there to judge. Lauren is the worst of the bunch because she walked down the runway too quickly and didn’t pose Ms. J is thoroughly upset with her. After their show, Jaslene says she is disappointed in Lauren and asks her if she really wants to be here and be a model. Lauren is upset by that and says that her trying all these new things shows she wants to be there. Katatryzna (if it’s wrong, I’m not trying to correct it) wins the challenge and picks Amis and Marvita to join her in a Lot 29 photoshoot with Jaslene for Seventeen magazine.
Saleshia’s Life as a CoverGirl segment has her visiting Baltimore (home of CoverGirl) and going on photoshoots and at a CoverGirl signing event and runway show.
The girls have a photoshoot in the meat packing district where they are told they will be posing with meat and will actually be wearing meat as part of their wardrobe. Fatima snarls throughout the whole shoot despite being told not to. Dominique gets bold and sits on a pile of meat for her shoot. Amis is unfocused (again) and has to be directed through every pose. As an aside, I just realized that Amis looks sort of like Blake Lively from Gossip Girl. What do you think? (Blake here, Amis here)
The girls are getting ready for judging, but Amis is still sleeping. After being told that she has 20 minutes before they leave, she stumbles out of bed and puts on some mismatched sweats and ties a scarf (?) around her head (she should have known better, she didn’t look “model” enough). At judging, Tyra sings (like opera)the judges’ introductions, which I don’t get. Totally out of left field. Anya is praised for her comfort in her shot. Lauren, Whitney Dominique and Katatryzna are told they have good shots.
Time for the CoverGirl of the week! It’s Claire again, for the 3rd week in the row. No shocker there, I’d be surprised if they said it was Lauren or something. I’m considering not including the CG of the Week in the recaps until someone besides Claire wins.
Anya gets called first. Kat (for my sake) is told that the judges want to see her hair in a bun next week because she’s still too “uh uh uh” (read that and imagine Tyra breathing heavy. Yeah.) Lauren is told that her runway walk is he reason she wasn’t called sooner. Fatima and Amis are the bottom two. Fatima is called because she didn’t have many good poses and was modeling from the waist down (instead of last week where she modeled from the waist up). Amis was called because of her lack of focus and also for the way she dressed for judging. Fatima gets her picture and Amis is eliminated, energetic and upbeat ‘til the end.
Next Week: The girls have a posing battle on the streets of Dominque and Whitney have a “shocking showdown” with Whitney telling Dominique not to call her “racist”.
