America’s Next Top Model Recap - Cycle 10, Episode 6

Posted on March 26, 2008

The big fight begins with Claire complaining about how Dominique sets her alarm to go off too early or too often. Dominique gets defensive but everyone tells her that she’s in the wrong.

Blah blah blah, Claire calls Dominique a bitch. Dominique asks if Claire calls her husband a bitch when they argue, Claire responds with “at least I have a husband” (oooh, snap!) Lauren tries to help out and Dominique tells her to “get in her place” and Lauren loses it, gets on the table and starts yelling, blah blah blah. Dominique ends up crying to her mom about how everyone is ganging up on her (because in her words, “she is so strong” in the competition).

The girls get a Tyra Mail. Tyra pops up as the driver of their “Fab Cab”. This week, Tyra teaches them how to improve their runway walk by remembering to stop and pose at the end of the runway. After walking back and forth a few times, Tyra fakes a cramp or a sprained ankle or something to demonstrate to the girls how to pose like they are in pain (including a completely unnecessary “sprained ankle” pose that ends with Tyra lying on her back legs spread in the air.) Each girl goes through a pose-off. As it turns out, the lesson was actually a challenge. Anya was chosen as the best poser and won a one-on-one shoot with Nigel Barker to shoot some timeless nude photographs for her portfolio. Anya gets back to the house and tells the girls about her nude shoot. Aimee states that she’s glad she didn’t win because she would not have felt comfortable getting naked because of her Mormon background. (Hmm, they are focusing a lot of camera time on Aimee this week, she’s either going to do really good or really bad).

Claire, Lauren and Whitney continue to stoke the fire by laughing about Dominique while she is still in the room. Blah blah blah Dominique tells Claire that she should be a big person and Claire retorts that she never said that she was never that big of a person to begin with (ooh, double snap!).

The girls go to their photoshoot. This week they will each be embodying a specific style of music and they are shot by Russell James (he also hosted VH1’s The Shot).

At judging, Whitney is praised for emobdying the “grunge” genre so well (it was a good shot, but can someone tell me why Whitney’s mouth is open in almost every picture? I can’t stand that!). Fatima is praised for improving (she modeled with her whole body!). Anya is told to remember where the light is when posing. Aimee is criticized for not showing enough soul as needed for the R&B genre. Stacy Ann is told to stay fluid when posing. Kat is told that this is her best shoot and that they might cut her hair to be like it was in the shoot. Claire is told that this was her worst shoot and that she needed to find a way to make her poses more versatile. Dominique is told that her head and body had to work together in the shoots.

CoverGirl of the Week, same old. Moving on.

Whitney is called first and Kat is called second (and told she’s getting that haircut). Claire and Aimee are the bottom two. Surprising, because they are usually the best posers. However, this week they both struggled in the shoot. Aimee is eleiminted and Tyra tells her not to hold back when she poses.

Next Week: The girls go on go-sees in NYC (kind of early in the season, right? Usually they do it with six girls left and in another country… whatever). Whitney’s confidence is shaken because some designers do not use plus-sized models on their runway. Lauren’s punk-rock temper (huh? - Tayo) takes over the house.
