Life Experiences Over the Last Two Weeks

- There’s a stray cat (who’s name has varied from “Tommy” to “Frances” to “That Evil Demon Kitty” in my mind has been stalking me and taking up residence in the storage shed area of my townhouse and also, oddly enough, on the roof of my garage.

Not actual cat, but similar - Wine will get you to that “fucked-up” stage without you realizing what happened. Seriously, I had three glasses over an hour and a half and all of a sudden I was feeling nice!
- “Skidoosh!” is the best line ever and for that reason alone, I want to see Kung Fu Panda. I will watch up until the point he utters the line and then I’ll probably end up leaving the theater. Knowing my luck, it’ll be in the last five minutes of the damn movie.
- I want to get a computer built so I can use it for my graphics and web stuff and use my current laptop for my music production stuff. I’m afraid that the specifications I’ve come up with will end up in me spending $3000 for it.
- I realized that the reason I don’t go to roller skating rinks that often is because I don’t like wobbling, falling or almost running into walls in front of people who are skating backwards, crisscrossed and in general doing a more wonderful job of jam-skating than I probably ever will.
- I need the IRS to get me my stimulus check. NOW! I mean, I got my refund direct deposited like a week after filing and you guys sent me a notice telling me I’d get my stimulus check deposited by May 9 and I’m still waiting. Just saying. I need to get a new clothes dryer and do other stuff to stimulate the economy and whatnot.
- I’m torn between eating healthier or eating the worst foods ever. I don’t know whether to baby my gall bladder or mses with it so bad it would wish it had never given me problems.
- I need to find ways of developing myself so that I can actually turn around and help the community develop itself.
Vectoring

It’s been a second since I posted some vectoring work. This was done with Photoshop (still not comfortable doing it in Illustrator, yet!) and it took me about 3 hours. It would have taken longer if I had decide to put in some more detailing, but, I was feeling lazy.
I realize that all the vectors I’ve posted are of women so I’ll try to make the next subject male or an inanimate object. I started one of Common and I don’t ever recall finishing it so I’ll go look for it.

Netflix Addiction
Filed Under Tayo Speaks, What Do You Think?, Netflix | Leave a Comment
The title says it all. I have a Netflix addition. When I first heard about Netflix, I was like, okay they deliver DVDs to you, like pizza. Seems like a good idea. But I never was an early adopter (I’ll probably get around to getting an iPhone eventually, maybe in a couple of years, or something…)
But with the plethora of Netflix online ads popping up at me from different websites or seducing me with flashing lights, stock movie characters (zombies, I’m looking at you), and offers of a free trial, I finally succumbed.
Actually, the real motivation was the fact that I am interested in seeing the Sex and the City movie when it comes out at the end of the month and figured that I couldn’t go see the movie with out knowing about the series that inspired it. So I started off ordering the entire series. About 12 discs over six seasons. And I’m right on track because I’m currently waiting for the disc with the last six episodes of the series.
Okay. What now, Netflix? Oh, you want me to tell you what movies I’ve seen so you can recommend others? Okay. And 20 minutes later, I had rated over 200 movies and added a lot of movies to my movie queue. And about a day and a half later, I was popping in the first season of SATC.
A good thing about Netflix for me is that I can get movies that I would think twice about seeing in public. I really don’t need to go through the emotional stress of watching the Blockbuster clerk raise her eyebrows at me because I feel like renting the entire series of “My Little Pony“. With Netflix, all my hidden movies desires are soothed with those little red envelopes.
Here’s a sampling of movies from my movie queue: I Am Legend (even after seriously thinking about it, I never saw it in the theaters), Knocked Up (which I avoided because I was told of an unappetizing birthing scene), The entire series of The Wire (which I’ve always wanted to watch but never did because of 1 - no HBO, and 2 - I wanted to keep my idyllic impressions of Baltimore), and A Raisin in the Sun (which I missed when it premiered on ABC last month).
Now this isn’t a Netflix advertisement (but, uh, I am open and available to sponsorship opportunities if any Netflix exec stumbles upon this post…), so let’s get down to the real purpose of this post.
I know that once I get all the “Movies I’ve Missed” viewed and out of my system, I’ll move on to the more gritty/ avant garde movies. So, my question to you, blogging/reading fam is, what movies would you recommend that I get delivered to me soon?
Letting Go

Sometimes I get so confused with this blog. At first it was entertainment-based. But then I realized that I would have to be on top of my game to keep up with and post about all these celebs and their antics. I don’t have the time and I’m competitive, so I’d be upset about not getting the scoops out first, LOL.
Then maybe personal? Hey, I mean it is titled AllTayo.com. But then I’m very hesitant about revealing too much about myself on the web. I’m a private person, in general. Don’t get me wrong. I’ll talk your ear off about my issues if given a chance and if I trust in you enough, but online? For the world to see? Not your girl.
I’m not sure where I’m going with this, right now I’m rambling. I’ve been thinking about changing up the layout, but I’m being lazy and feeling a bit unmotivated to go through the whole process of picking a new layout, upgrading to Wordpress 2.5, blah blah blah, yackity-smackity…
I do think that I will start taking a few layers off, showing off some more of my personal stuff. The day-to-day crap.
Ugh, first off, I’ve mentioned in almost every post since like March that I’ve been busy. Basically, I’m busy working on three different websites. The first is for a candidate for local office (http://www.akinforallofleon.com), the second is for a community-based group that I’m in, the third is for a industry association. The kicker is that I’m not getting paid for any of these sites. They’re all pro-bono.
I’m glad I’m getting stuff for my portfolio, but I’m getting to the point where I feel like I should be getting paid for my work, ya know? I have a freelance company, Triple W Creations. I’ve only had one paying job. I know, I know, know, know that it’s because I’m not marketing my services enough, so that’s something I’ll have to work on , yeah? Just need to figure out the best way to do that.
Also, there’s a surgery I’m supposed to have that’s looming the next few weeks. I’ll elaborate more when the time gets closer. But I’m more worried about what happens after the surgery than the actual surgery itself. I’ve scared myself by reading other people’s stories online, but I have to keep reminding myself that each experience is different.
That’s that for now…
